Francesc Fàbregas Soler, "Cesc", is an organizing midfielder, with excellent vision for the game, he is mature and combative on the field of play, and is also known for his goal-scoring instinct, particularly from long range. Developed as a player through the lower ranks of FC Barcelona, Cesc was signed by Arsenal FC in October of 2003, at the age of just 16.

In the 2003/04 season, Cesc made his debut appearance in the third round of the League Cup competition (Carling Cup), against Rotherham United, on the 28th of October, and became the youngest player to date to start for Arsenal’s first team. For the Spain national team, he was named player of the tournament and top goalscorer in the FIFA U17 championships held in Finland, having netted five goals, and helped Spain to reach the final.

In the season 2004/05 Cesc scored his first Premiership goal, and became Arsenal’s youngest ever goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League competition. He was also a key player in the national team, scoring a crucial goal in the 2004 UEFA European U17 championships held in France, helping his team to qualify for the final of the tournament.

The 2005/06 season was key for Cesc at Arsenal FC. Matches played in Europe (Champions League) were very important in consolidating the position of great responsibility assigned to this young but solid player. In this season they reached the final in Paris, up against FC Barcelona. Within the Spain national team Cesc had his senior debut in Valladolid, in a friendly against Ivory Coast, and with the Catalan team against Brasil, in the Camp Nou (result 2-5).

In the season 2006/07, Cesc became an essential part of the leadership of the team, through strong performances and demonstrating aggression in the midfield. With Spain, he put in some outstanding performances in the World Cup held in Germany 2006, in which they reached the last sixteen.

The season 2007/08 represented a step forward in the Cesc’s leadership, through his gradual imposition of his strength within the team.It was a season of unforgettable nights, like the match in the San Siro against AC Milan, in the last 16 of the Champions League, in which Cesc put them through to the quarter-finals. Cesc also received an international honour with the national team, in winning the European Championships of 2008, hosted by Switzerland and Austria.

The 2008/09 season is special for Cesc, in that it saw two major events which would change the perception of Cesc as a player. For one, Arsene handed him the responsibility of the captain’s armband, and secondly he competed in the Confederations Cup in South Africa 2009, reaching the semifinals with Spain.

During season 2009/10, in the quarterfinal encounter away to FC Barcelona, Cesc sufffered a cracked fibula, which was to keep him out of action until the preparations for World Cup in South Africa 2010 with the Spain national team.

The summer of 2010 will remain in the memory of all fans, players and technical staff, and more widely in the minds of all lovers of good football. The Spain national team was proclaimed world champions in South Africa, in which Cesc made the pass on goal to Iniesta, which led to his decisive goal against Holland (0-1).

The 2010/11 season was not the best of Cesc in terms of the appearance in matches, but it was a season that has come out in that Cesc strengthened. After winning the 2010 World Cup, he suffered a muscular problem in the ischio-tibial, was remained out of the pitches for a few months, but at the end of the season could recover one hundred percent. The remarkable note is that after 8 years in London, Cesc signed for FC Barcelona. Till now it is presented a new way to go and enjoy.
